Distance Learning The Distance Learning Center is located at CLICS (Center for Library and Instructional Computing Services) in Galbraith Hall located on the Revelle campus of UC San Diego. The Distance Learning Center provides a setting for live interactive video and audio instruction connecting across campuses, states, and even countries. At the Distance Learning Center, faculty can lecture live to several geographically separate locations, and respond to students' questions in real-time. Large screen monitors allow instructors and students to interact just as if they were in the same classroom, and specialized devices make it possible to view transparencies, slides, notes, videos and laptop screens with ease. This service is available at no cost to qualified faculty and departments. VideoconferencingVideoconferencing, hosted at the Distance Learning Center, allows individuals and groups to hold interactive meetings, conferences, or interviews between remote locations without leaving San Diego. Media Services' specialized technicians can connect you with sites around the world, all from the Distance Learning Center which comfortably seats 35 people. Audio CodecFor live-radio interviews, Audio Codec provides high quality sound that is superior to phone quality and is the preferred method for news organizations like NPR and the BBC.
